Adventure in Minneapolis with the 1st Grade Teachers - Teacher Feature!
One lucky student and three of his/her friends are invited to spend an afternoon exploring Minneapolis with Ms. Johnson & Mrs. Dewhirst. We will play at the playground by Lake Harriet, get ice cream at Sebastian Joe’s, visit the animals (and pick out a book!) at the Wild Rumpus bookstore, and take a ride on the trolley. Adventures in Cardboard - Sat. 10/10/2020
Start out at 1 p.m. in the Adventures in Cardboard Adventure Studio Armory where cardboard artists will be on-hand to help kids create their own fantastic swords and shields. Then take a short walk to Minnehaha Creek for an all-out game of Strategic Capture the Flag. There will be an array of props and several ancient magical relics to be hidden and found onsite. Heroes will be made, alliances forged and broken, and a ton of fun will be had during this fast-paced epic battle for glory. After the dust has settled, we'll walk back to the workshop for some refreshments. The sword and shield are yours to take home. Hosts: Kelly & Joe Bower, Heather & Justin Johnson, and Shannon & Chad Skally. Event date: 10/10/2020. $45 per student in grades 4-8. Limit 20 students.
